De Zerbi: Tottenham a "complete team" after 2-0 at Stamford Bridge
De Zerbi praised squad cohesion after a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge — an away win only twice in 34 Premier League visits.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi called his side a "complete team" after Spurs beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The victory was only Tottenham's second at Stamford Bridge in 34 Premier League away visits, secured by an own goal from Majk Penders in the 77th minute and an outstanding individual effort from Matis Tel about ten minutes later.
De Zerbi highlights squad progress
"That was an important moment for the supporters, for the club, but also for the players. They deserved that victory, they prepared very well. We are making significant progress — we are improving our mentality, our group cohesion and the relationships between the players, and we are also developing our play on the pitch," De Zerbi said after the match.
The Italian coach underlined changes off the field as well as on it: "When we have dinner together or spend time together in the dressing room, I see a different group, different relationships and a different atmosphere among the players," he added.
De Zerbi also pointed to a turning point earlier in the month. He said that before the 1-1 draw with Manchester United the squad held a frank, sizeable meeting. "We have been working on changing the mentality at our club over the past season. Before the match with Manchester we had a serious conversation — a really big meeting where we took off the masks and spoke honestly and openly with each other. I think that from that moment something inside us changed," the Tottenham coach commented.
The Stamford Bridge success bolsters Tottenham's momentum and provided a rare win at a ground where they have historically struggled. De Zerbi's emphasis on group cohesion and mentality suggests the club sees the result as part of a broader improvement rather than an isolated night.
