Denver wins in OT — Nikola Jokić sets all-time triple-double record
Nuggets won 141–135 in overtime; Jokić finished with 35–15–10 to surpass Russell Westbrook's career total.

Denver Nuggets rallied from a large deficit to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 141–135 in overtime on October 25, 2026, earning the franchise its first victory of the NBA season. The win was defined by Nikola Jokić's dominant performance and a late surge led by Jamal Murray.
Jokić breaks the all-time triple-double mark
Jokić finished the game with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists — numbers that gave him his 222nd career triple-double when playoff appearances are included. The milestone moved him past Russell Westbrook, who has 221 career triple-doubles.
During the contest Jokić also recorded what was counted as his 199th triple-double in regular-season play, a tally that left him ten games short of the regular-season-only record; however, when his 23 playoff triple-doubles are added, his career total reached 222 and eclipsed Westbrook's 221.
Jamal Murray played a pivotal role in Denver's comeback, combining with Jokić to erase a 23-point deficit and force overtime. The Nuggets' late run and balanced attack ultimately decided a tightly contested game in Denver's favor.
The NBA's official account highlighted Jokić's night: "JOKIĆ TONIGHT: MOVES 11 TRIPLE-DOUBLES AWAY FROM THE ALL-TIME RECORD 🃏 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in the @nuggets' 23-point comeback W! https://t.co/yzGFakZYXy — NBA (@NBA) October 25, 2026"
