Der Klassiker ends 2-2 — Bayern and Dortmund share points, Bayern hit by three injuries

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund played out a 2:2 draw in the eighth round of the Bundesliga, a match in which the hosts twice took the lead but Dortmund salvaged a point with a late equaliser.

Match action and decisive moments

Jude Bellingham had an effort that was ruled out for offside before Konrad Laimer put Bayern ahead in the 38th minute. In the second half Harry Kane stepped up to take a penalty in the 56th minute but struck the crossbar.

Borussia responded when Serhou Guirassy levelled in the 60th minute. Just six minutes later Dayot Upamecano restored Bayern's advantage, only for substitute Fabio Silva to score in the 89th minute to make it 2-2.

The late rescue spared Dortmund defeat and left both sides sharing the points in a heated Klassiker.

Bayern also suffered a blow with injuries during the game: Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry were forced off in the first half, while Michael Olise was substituted late on. The three enforced changes could complicate Bayern's preparations for the coming fixtures.

Both teams will take the single point and turn their focus to domestic and European commitments in the days ahead.
