State Election Commission approves ballot paper for Brvenica mayoral vote
Commission sets ballot content, order of candidates and bilingual printing for the early Brvenica mayoral vote on 18 October 2026.

The State Election Commission (SEC) has approved the content, layout and security features of the ballot paper for the early mayoral election in the Municipality of Brvenica, set for 18 October 2026.
Closed session to protect voting material
SEC members said the item was discussed in a closed session to protect the confidentiality of election materials and the integrity of the process, in line with the Election Code and Article 33 of the Commission's Rules. A separate record from the closed meeting, including an audio recording, will be archived and will not be published.
According to the commission, all legal requirements were fully observed when defining the ballot's content. The ballot will be printed in Macedonian (Cyrillic) and in the official language and script used by at least 20 percent of the municipality's residents, and, where applicable according to representation, in the language and script of the communities to which the candidates belong.
The ballot will show the municipality name, polling station number, the name and symbol of the submitting list or proposer, and, in order, the serial number, given name and family name of each candidate as set by the established list. The detachable stub will carry the serial number, the municipality and the polling station number.
At earlier SEC sessions the order of candidates on the Brvenica ballot was established. Under serial number 1 is the candidate proposed by the Coalition "Tvoja Makedonija" – VMRO-DPMNE, Stojancho Radichevski. Second on the list is the candidate proposed by the coalition led by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), Jovica Radeski, followed by the candidate proposed by a Group of Voters, Dushan Bogdanovski.
Fourth on the list is the candidate proposed by Vlen, Jakup Huseini, and fifth is the candidate proposed by a Group of Voters, Arife Idrizi. Under serial number 6 is the candidate proposed by the Coalition "National Alliance for Integration" (NAI), Arkin Jahiji; DUI also nominated Arkin Jahiji for mayor of Brvenica.
The extraordinary election was called after the sudden death of Jovica Ilievski, who won a second term in last autumn's local elections.
