Stole Dimitrievski after 0:3 loss: We must improve our defence
The goalkeeper said the opponents mounted many attacks and the team needs to be more focused in front of their goal.
27.09.2026 — North Macedonia suffered a 0:3 defeat, but goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski was the standout performer between the posts and prevented an even heavier loss.
Despite his strong showings, Dimitrievski still conceded three goals and said he left the pitch dissatisfied with the team's defensive display.
Assessment from the goalkeeper
Stole Dimitrievski addressed the media after the match and was blunt about what must change. “They had quite a few attacks on our goal. We need to be more concentrated, more focused in front of our goal, in our defense, and we must improve. We must defend much better than we are doing now, the way that has characterized us until now. And that's why I think we need to improve in defence so that we can create chances for a better attack.”
His remarks underlined that the coaching staff and players will have to work on organisation and concentration in the defensive third if the team hopes to convert improved defence into more effective attacking opportunities.
How quickly North Macedonia can tighten up at the back will be central to their preparation for upcoming fixtures; for now Dimitrievski’s performance remains one of the few positives to take from a night when the opponents repeatedly tested the goal.
