Dimovski: Shkëndija heads to Shtip aiming for three points

Shkëndija travel to Shtip this weekend as the Macedonian First League reaches its 12th round, with the table leaders targeting three points at Bregalnica. The fixture is one of the most anticipated of the weekend given Shkëndija's position and ambitions.

Bregalnica, still smarting from a surprise elimination in the Macedonian Cup at the hands of Makedonija GP, will be looking for immediate recovery in the league on home soil.

Match preview

Bojan Dimovski, speaking ahead of the trip to Shtip, said Shkëndija will not change its approach regardless of venue and underlined the club’s confidence in its squad.

"We worked hard all week and prepared as best as possible for this match. I believe we are ready. A significant challenge awaits us away from home, but for us it does not matter where we play, home or away, Shkëndija always plays to win. That will be the case tomorrow against Bregalnica, and I hope we will show our best performance and take all three points. Naturally, when you have a large number of matches both in Europe and in the domestic league, a slight dip in form is to be expected. Still, Shkëndija knows how to handle such situations, and we, the players, know how to get through them. I believe we possess better quality than any other team in the league, but we must prove it on the pitch. I am confident that we will return to winning ways and start a new run — similar to the one at the start of the season — and I believe we will build a lead in the table," Dimovski said, then added.

"I must admit that I am still not fully fit, but I am working hard and ready to give 100% in every match. Psychologically it is really hard for any player to be injured and out of the pitch, especially when the competitive rhythm is lost. But we are professionals and I believe that is part of football. Bregalnica is an interesting opponent, matches with Shkëndija have always been attractive. Off the pitch there is strong friendship between the clubs, but once the match starts every duel is unpredictable and each side fights for its success. That is why we will go for all three points in Shtip," he concluded.
