Diomande volley seals Real Madrid's 3-0 win at Racing Santander

Real Madrid defeated Racing Santander 3-0 away in La Liga on November 1, 2026, with goals from Kylian Mbappé (penalty, 11'), Jude Bellingham (21') and Jan Diomande (36').

Diomande's volley crowns a dominant first half

The match opened early in Real's favour when Mbappé converted a penalty in the 11th minute. The Frenchman went down after minimal contact; the referee pointed to the spot and, despite debate among spectators and pundits, Mbappé took responsibility and scored. He has now scored against 24 different opponents in La Liga.

Ten minutes later Real effectively settled the outcome. Arda Güler played the pass that released Jude Bellingham, who finished to make it 2-0 and give Madrid breathing room.

In the 36th minute Jan Diomande produced one of the contenders for goal of the season: he connected with a loose ball and from roughly 25 metres hit a volley that flew under the bar to make it 3-0.

Real controlled the second half and kept Racing from mounting a comeback. Thibaut Courtois was outstanding in goal when called upon and frustrated the hosts' attempts to reduce the deficit.

The biggest moment for Racing came in the 72nd minute when Aurelien Tchouameni appeared to handle in the box, but the referee ruled the arm to be in a natural position after a VAR review and overturned the decision. Real finished with more than 20 shots and left Santander with a deserved victory.

With the win Real remain third in the table, behind Barcelona and Atlético Madrid; the latter two meet next week, while José Mourinho's side travel to Valencia.
