RTS director Manja Grčić resigns
Grčić told the Management Board she stepped down after careful consideration and urged a lawful handover to preserve uninterrupted operations of RTS.

Manja Grčić has resigned as general director of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), informing the broadcaster's Management Board that she had taken the step after "careful consideration" of the circumstances in which RTS is operating and that the move was made in the institution's interest to allow its uninterrupted functioning.
Board to consider handover and interim leadership
In her letter to the Management Board, Grčić asked the body to take, within its legal powers, prompt measures to ensure continuity of leadership and a lawful handover of duties. She also stated her willingness to cooperate so that the transfer of responsibilities proceeds orderly and without impact on RTS's work.
Grčić has additionally removed Bojana Mlađenović from the position of editor of the Informative Programme and proposed Borivoje Uskoković as her successor.
At the same time, a group of 70 RTS employees put forward Jovan Memedović to be appointed acting director of the public broadcaster.
The resignation comes after public calls for Grčić's departure from candidates of the Student List "Students Win" and a portion of RTS staff. The Student List had sent an open letter to RTS management, the Management Board, the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) and the National Assembly of Serbia demanding accountability over the fulfilment of the public interest in reporting.
Candidates from the Student List demanded immediate resignations from RTS leadership and editors of the news programme and asked for independent and transparent operation of the media regulator. The Management Board is expected to hold an electronic session to discuss the next steps.
