Disciplinary proceedings opened against FK Vardar over VIP overcapacity
Football Federation of North Macedonia says the VIP area at the Vardar–Shkendija Arachinovo match hosted more people than allowed; a decision is expected after the international break.
FK Vardar faces a fresh disciplinary procedure after the Football Federation of North Macedonia (FFM) announced an inquiry into the club’s organisation at the fixture against FK Shkendija Arachinovo 77.
Club could be sanctioned during the international break
FFM said the procedure concerns the match that Vardar played behind closed doors — the same fixture in which, according to the federation, the VIP section hosted more people than permitted. "Against FK Vardar disciplinary proceedings are being initiated due to poor organization, namely the presence of more persons than the permitted number in the VIP box at the match against FK Shkendija Arachinovo 77," the Football Federation of North Macedonia announced shortly ago.
The federation did not announce a final sanction; the ongoing international break gives the Disciplinary Commission time to review the case and reach a decision in the coming days.
The commission also published its other rulings from the latest session:
- Damjan Masevski of FK Ohrid Lihnidos is suspended for four matches.
- Muslimi Muharem of FK Aresimi 1973 is suspended for one match.
- FK Bregalnica 2008 is fined €150 for the use of one flare at the match against FK Sileks in Kratovo.
- A disciplinary procedure has been opened against FK Bregalnica 2008 for use of pyrotechnical means in the match against FK Skopje AD.
- A disciplinary procedure has been opened against FK Vardar for poor organization — specifically, for the presence of more persons than allowed in the VIP box at the match against FK Shkendija Arachinovo 77.
- Isuf Bajrami, commercial administrator of FK Shkendija Arachinovo 77 AD, is banned from performing functions for six months for unsportsmanlike, humiliating and vulgar behaviour, and for a verbal attack on the referees in the match FK Vardar – FK Shkendija Arachinovo 77.
The FFM statement and the commission’s decisions bring renewed attention to organisational standards at domestic top-flight matches, and any sanction against Vardar would mark a swift follow-up to the club’s recent punishment for poor organisation in a previous game.
