Diesel tops 100 denars as fuel prices rise

From 00:01 on 25 August new retail prices for liquid fuels come into force, and diesel has crossed the 100-denar threshold per litre.

The Energy, Water Services and Municipal Waste Management Regulatory Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia raised the price of EURODIESEL BS by 3,50 denari, to a maximum retail price of 101,50 denari per litre. Last week diesel was sold at 98 denari per litre.

Changes across fuel grades

Petrol grades also become more expensive: EUROSUPER BS-95 will be priced at 93 denari per litre and EUROSUPER BS-98 at 95 denari per litre, each up by 1,50 denari. The extra light fuel oil increases by 2 denari to 100,50 denari per litre, while mazut will be sold at 45,576 denari per kilogram.

Overall, retail prices for oil derivatives rise on average by 2,62 percent compared with the prices set on 17 August. The Commission says that in the meantime the reference price of diesel on the world market rose on average by 4,842 percent.

The change is expected to be visible at petrol stations from the first minute of 25 August. Households and businesses will be watching how higher pump prices affect transport costs and everyday bills.
