Meloni and her supporters hail the longevity of her cabinet as a major achievement after decades of frequent government changes in Rome. A rally is planned in Bari for the evening to mark the milestone, and Meloni is expected to speak at the event.
Critics, however, argue that the duration of the government has been elevated into a goal in itself and warn that prolonged continuity risks political stagnation and reduced dynamism in policy-making.
Italy has long been known for rapid turnover at the top levels of government: since the Republic was established 80 years ago, the country has had 68 governments that on average lasted about 13 months.
The milestone places Meloni above a benchmark previously held by Berlusconi, underscoring both her resilience and the polarized reactions her administration continues to provoke across Italy's political spectrum.
