Skopje says Karpoš 4 park will be finished by year‑end; mayor rules out 'Karposh on Water'

The City of Skopje has resumed work to complete the park in Karpoš 4 along the Vardar river embankment, and the mayor has set a firm deadline for finishing the site.

Mayor promises completion and rules out new construction

Orce Gjorgievski said the park will be finished before the end of the year and that there will be no new residential or commercial buildings at the site. He also rejected proposals for a development branded as "Karposh on Water."

Municipal officials pointed out that the landscaping project had been started during the term of former mayor Danela Arsovska but was left incomplete. The city now says it is working to bring the area to a finished state.

Gjorgievski described the condition in which his team found the site: a dump left behind, no installed hydrant network to support grass irrigation, and trees that had dried out during the period of neglect.

The mayor's timeline and his pledge that no buildings or the "Karposh on Water" development will be allowed set clear parameters for the remainder of the work, which the city expects to complete by year-end.
