DUI responds to VLEN over Artan Grubi case: says public accusations are pressure on judiciary
DUI calls VLEN's public allegations political pressure and says it informed international representatives about the case.
The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) issued a rebuttal to accusations from VLEN over the legal proceedings involving Artan Grubi, calling the public denouncement of the prosecution a form of political pressure on the judiciary.
In its response, the party argued that prosecutors and judges must base their decisions solely on law and evidence rather than on demands from political parties.
“Prosecutors and courts must decide based on evidence, not on political and party directives. Selective partisan justice is not needed by the citizens or by North Macedonia,” the party said.
BDI also stated that it has alerted representatives of the international community about its concerns, including the most recent statement issued by VLEN, and framed the public attack as part of a partisan tactic to influence legal actors.
“Prosecutors bear responsibility and must decide based on law, evidence and expert assessments, not on party orders and wishes,” the party added, reiterating its call for legal institutions to act independently.
The exchange follows accusations surrounding the process against Artan Grubi, with DUI defending the need for impartial judicial procedure and warning against what it described as selective, politically directed pressure on courts and prosecutors.
