Two wildfires active near Makedonski Brod and in Kumanovo’s Sredorek
Center for Crisis Management: 23 open‑space fires recorded in the past 24 hours, 20 extinguished; Delchevo landfill under control.
Two wildfires remain active this morning near the village of Dragov Dol in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod and in the Sredorek neighbourhood of Kumanovo, officials said.
Fires burn low vegetation and rubbish
Near Dragov Dol, flames are affecting low vegetation, low-stemmed forest and shrubs on surrounding slopes. In Kumanovo’s Sredorek the fire involves deliberately ignited garbage at a local site.
The Center for Crisis Management (CCM) reported that a total of 23 open‑space fires were recorded in the past 24 hours. Of those, 20 have been extinguished.
The blaze at the city landfill in Delchevo is currently under control, the CCM added.
Authorities continue to monitor the two active incidents and the situation in other affected locations; updates will follow as containment progresses.
