Two long weekends in October: 11, 12 and 23 October will be non-working days
11 October (Day of the People's Uprising) and 23 October (Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle) create two three-day weekends.
October will bring three public non-working days in North Macedonia, which create two separate long weekends for citizens.
First is 11 October — Day of the People's Uprising. Because the holiday falls on a Sunday, and under the Law on Holidays the following Monday (12 October) is observed as a non-working day, citizens get a three-day break in a row.
How the calendar creates two mini-holidays
The second holiday is 23 October — Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle, which in 2026 falls on a Friday. That places another three-day weekend alongside the usual Saturday and Sunday.
In short, the non-working dates in October for all citizens will be 11, 12 and 23 October.
Employers and employees should check workplace rules and any sectoral agreements about making up work or overtime around these public holidays.
