Two evening PMFL matches under floodlights — none at Todor Proeski Arena
The sixth round (4 September 2026) opened with Shkendija–Tikvesh at 19:00 in Skopje and Bregalnica–Shkendija Arachinovo in Štip half an hour earlier.

It was an unusual evening for Macedonian top-flight football on 4 September 2026: the sixth round of the PMFL opened with two fixtures played under floodlights — and neither match took place at the Todor Proeski Arena.
The first fixture kicks off in Skopje: at 19:00 on the Petar Milosevski complex, Shkendija meet Tikvesh. In Štip, Bregalnica host Shkendija Arachinovo, starting half an hour earlier.
Night games under stadium lights were once rare in domestic conditions, making this double-evening program notable. Historically, the Todor Proeski Arena was the most frequent venue for marquee evening fixtures.
More clubs now able to stage evening matches
The landscape is changing as more grounds are equipped for night play. This autumn Shkendija is using the Football Federation of North Macedonia's (FFM) pitch as its home venue and is staging its matches exclusively under floodlights.
Štip’s renovated stadium has also been fitted with lighting, allowing Bregalnica to schedule evening kick-offs. The result is a rare league evening where two top-division matches run in parallel away from the capital’s main arena.
