Two minors seriously injured after quad bike overturned near Debreshe

Two minors were seriously injured after a quad bike overturned near the elementary school in the village of Debreshe, Gostivar municipality.

Emergency services received the victims on the evening of August 1, 2026. Medical staff at the Gostivar Medical Center reported that two injured people from a traffic accident were brought to their facility, and police later reached the scene to investigate.

Police account of the incident

“On 01.08.2026 at 22:06 hours, at the Police Station for Road Traffic Safety Gostivar, from the Gostivar Medical Center it was reported that two injured persons from a traffic accident had been brought to them. Police officers went to the scene and established that in Debreshe village, near the elementary school, a quad bike without registration plates, driven by a 14-year-old from Chegrane, with a 13-year-old passenger from Debreshe, ran off the road. Both minors sustained serious bodily injuries,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to the police statement, the quad bike did not have registration plates. Authorities have not released further details about the exact cause of the vehicle leaving the road or about the medical condition beyond the classification of the injuries as serious.

Officers from the Traffic Safety unit in Gostivar remain on the case, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the accident and whether any legal violations occurred. The identities of the minors have not been disclosed due to their age.
