Two suspects in e‑index manipulation at Goce Delchev University in Stip remanded for eight days
Court accepted prosecutor’s request to detain the e‑index administrator and an archive adviser on charges of computer fraud and abuse of office.

Judge in a preliminary hearing at the Basic Court in Stip has ordered eight days of detention for two university employees suspected of manipulating the electronic student records (e‑index) at Goce Delchev University in Stip.
The court accepted a request from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office to detain 44‑year‑old R.T., who served as head of the e‑index system, and 44‑year‑old M.M.N., who worked as an adviser in the student archive. Both are formally charged with computer fraud and abuse of official position.
Prosecutors say scheme ran for five years
The Prosecutor’s Office estimates the unlawful financial benefit from the alleged manipulations at about €21,000. Investigators say the suspicious activity took place over a five‑year span, from 2021 through 2026.
According to police, R.T. repeatedly accepted money from students in Turkey in exchange for allowing them to register and sit exams after official deadlines. He is also accused of deleting grades and academic credits from electronic records so students could enrol for a new semester or academic year, and of entering data that falsely indicated tuition had been paid.
During a search of R.T.’s home, authorities seized three laptops, four mobile phones, USB memory sticks, documentation and cash. The university’s electronic system was also examined under a court order, and investigators located records of the changes made.
“However, records were also found of changes made in the system by the 44‑year‑old M.M.N., employed as an adviser in the student archive, and her home was searched under an additional court order, after which she was deprived of liberty,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
