Two Serbian nationals detained at Tabanovce for driving 169 and 175 km/h where limit is 80 km/h
Authorities say automated monitoring on the A1 detected speeds far above the 80 km/h limit; both drivers will face criminal charges.

Two Serbian nationals were detained at the Tabanovce border crossing on the country’s exit after traffic monitoring identified them as suspects in criminal offenses for reckless driving, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said.
Both cases were recorded yesterday on the A1 motorway, on the section through the Demir Kapija–Gevgelija tunnels, where the maximum permitted speed is 80 kilometres per hour.
Details of the two stops
The first incident occurred at 19:05, when officers at Tabanovce took into custody N. Z., 36, a Serbian national. The MIA’s Safe City system registered her driving a Mercedes with Serbian licence plates at 169 km/h in a zone limited to 80 km/h.
The second case happened at 22:45, when police detained V. Ž., 58, also a Serbian national. According to automated records, he was driving an Audi with Serbian plates at 175 km/h on the same motorway section.
Both individuals were escorted to a police station. After the incidents are formally documented, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against them, the ministry added.
