Sara Mitevska completes singles-and-doubles double at Jug Open in Skopje

Sixteen-year-old Sara Mitevska capped the Jug Open 2026 in Skopje with victories in both singles and doubles, leaving the TK Jug courts with two trophies after a week of competition.

Local junior claims both titles at J60 Skopje

In the singles final on August 16, 2026, Mitevska defeated Verica Zorić of Serbia 2-1 in sets (26 63 63), overturning an opening set loss to take the match.

She also triumphed in doubles alongside Andreja Glushkova of Bulgaria. The pair beat Italy’s Anastasia Dimitriev and Noel Zema in the final, winning 2-1 in sets (63 26 10-4 on points) to secure the doubles crown.

On the boys' side, Erion Neziri, representing North Macedonia, partnered with Serbia’s Lazar Mladenović to take the doubles title after a 2-0 victory (63 61) over Bulgaria’s Boris Borisov and Boris Nachev.

Among North Macedonian singles hopefuls, Kristian Janev advanced as far as the quarterfinals in the boys' draw.

The Jug Open is staged at TK Jug as a J60 Skopje tournament for players under 18. The club will remain active next week as the third of four consecutive events in Skopje — the Inteko Open — moves onto the same courts.
