Three tankers with drinking and technical water sent to Gostivar

The Directorate for Protection and Rescue (DZS) has mobilized three tankers carrying drinking and technical water to assist residents of Gostivar, director Stojanche Angelov announced.

"One tanker from TPPE Gostivar, one from Bechtel&Enka and one from Bogovinje. They have so far been sent to residents twice and are planned to be sent two more rounds by this evening," Angelov said.

Distribution is being carried out in close coordination with the Municipal Headquarters for Protection and Rescue of the Municipality of Gostivar, the director added.

Water remains unfit for drinking

Angelov reiterated that there has been no change in the overall situation in Gostivar: water is still not safe to drink because some samples taken by the Institute for Public Health continue to show bacterial contamination.

According to Angelov, the supply may be declared safe soon, but for now water is permitted only for technical use while hyperchlorination efforts continue.
