11 parliamentary committees to review law amendments today
Parliamentary committees meet on 3 September 2026 to consider amendments across multiple policy areas including finance, health and agriculture.
Today (3 September 2026) eleven parliamentary committees of the Assembly of North Macedonia will hold sessions to consider a broad package of proposed law amendments touching finance, health, agriculture, transport, security, local self-government and public administration.
The Committee on Economic Issues, Labour and Energy Policy will debate changes to the Law on Mandatory Oil Reserves, the Geological Survey of the Republic of North Macedonia, state statistics, metrology and labour inspection. The agenda also includes amendments and supplements to laws establishing the Agency for Foreign Investment and Export Promotion of the Republic of North Macedonia, the State Market Inspectorate and the Technological-Industrial Development Zones, as well as an addendum to the Law on Financial Support for Investments.
The Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations is scheduled to review amendments to the Law on Forensic Expertise, the Law on Administrative Civil Servants and the Law on Enforcement of Sanctions, together with proposed changes to the Cadastre of Real Estate, management of confiscated property, rules on property benefits and seized items in criminal and misdemeanor proceedings, professional training of administrative staff, the administrative inspection and inspection supervision.
The Committee on Defence and Security will consider amendments to the Law on Classified Information and proposed changes to the laws on Crisis Management and on Protection and Rescue. The Committee on Local Self-Government will review amendments to the Law on the State Inspectorate for Local Self-Government and the Law on Balanced Regional Development.
Key sectoral items
The Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management will discuss changes to the law establishing the Agency for Financial Support in Agriculture and Rural Development and to the Law on Food Safety, as well as amendments relating to the Agency for Promotion of Agricultural Development, plant health and the State Agricultural Inspectorate. The Committee on Health will examine amendments to the Law on Protection from Ionising Radiation and Radiation Safety, the Law on Health Insurance and changes to the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices.
The Committee on Finance and Budget will take up the Draft Law on State Audit in first reading and proposed amendments to laws on the Deposit Insurance Fund, the Customs Administration, public procurement and the Central Register. On its agenda are also changes to the laws on commodity reserves and the Public Revenue Office. The Committee on Culture and Tourism will debate amendments to the Law on the Use of the Macedonian Language.
The Committee on Transport, Digital Transformation, Environment and Spatial Planning will review amendments and supplements to laws on urban planning, archival material and archival activity, safety in the railway system and inland navigation, as well as amendments to the Law on Environment. The Committee on Social Policy, Demography and Youth will consider amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance and changes to the Law on the Register of Mandatory Social Insurance.
Finally, the Legislative-Legal Committee will discuss, in addition to the Draft Law amending the Law on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and the Draft Law on State Audit in first reading, a range of amendments related to mandatory oil reserves, state statistics, public procurement, health and pension insurance, urban planning, crisis management, protection and rescue, and several laws governing public administration and inspection supervision.
