An explosion outside a restaurant in central Moscow killed three people and injured 15, local police said. The blast occurred at about 20:00 local time near a ground‑floor summer terrace, authorities reported.
The terrace is located in one of the seven Stalinist skyscrapers that line Kudrinskaya Square. The device or cause of the explosion has not been officially established.
Those exposed to the blast suffered a range of injuries, with some described as serious. Investigators and emergency services remained at the scene conducting work and assisting the wounded.

State television suggested the explosion may have been caused by the detonation of a gas cylinder, but that theory has not been confirmed by officials. Footage published by RIA Novosti shows heavily armed security personnel at the site, which was closed off to the public.
Local online outlet Baza reported the blast struck the upscale Italian restaurant Balzi Rossi. The restaurant’s website indicated the venue was closed on Saturday for a private event. The inquiry into the cause and circumstances of the blast is ongoing.
