Mick Schumacher: “I would give everything in the world to talk to my father again”
In the film Mick describes the void left by his father, the moments he misses and why the family still shields Michael’s health from public view.

In a new Netflix documentary devoted to his father, Mick Schumacher delivers a raw, emotional account of the void left by Michael Schumacher and the heavy responsibility he carries as a racing driver and son.
"I'd give everything in the world"
Reflecting on the day of the skiing accident in the French Alps, Mick — who was only 14 at the time — said the hardest thing is the conversations they will never have. “My father and I understand each other in a special way, because we speak the same language — the language of motoring. I believe that today we would communicate very differently because of that. We would have so many stories to talk about… That’s what I think about most and I would literally give everything in the world just to have such an opportunity,” Mick said, his voice breaking.
The emptiness Mick describes is not limited to the technical side of racing. He speaks of missing ordinary family moments that many children take for granted. “After the accident, those moments simply no longer exist, those moments many children share with their parents. I find that in some way deeply unfair,” the heir of the seven-time world champion said candidly.
Despite the difficult reality the family has lived with for more than a decade, Mick recalls warm memories from his early childhood: carefree days at home, karting through villages, riding ponies and time spent together away from tracks and cameras. “It was a wonderful childhood. I mostly remember the carefree family days, karting through the villages, riding ponies and spending time together away from the tracks and the cameras,” he said.
Corinna Schumacher appears in the film to explain why the family has kept Michael’s health details private for years. She reiterates that Michael insisted on a strict separation of family life from the public eye, and that she and the children continue to honour his wish and protect the family’s privacy.
