Enrique: Dembele learned his game at Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique praised Usman Dembele after the winger’s influential appearance in PSG’s 3:1 win over Strasbourg on October 19, 2026.

Enrique underlined that Dembele’s time at Barcelona was decisive for his tactical understanding and adaptability — qualities the coach says showed immediately when the French forward came off the bench.

Enrique highlights Barcelona education

According to the PSG boss, the habits and game-reading Dembele acquired in Catalonia make him particularly suitable for the tactical demands Enrique wants from his attacking players.

Enrique told reporters: "He was at the best football school, and that is Barcelona. He already knew everything when it came to the way of playing. Whenever you have the chance to see a Barca player, you notice that he adapts to what I want in football. He perfectly understands when he must be wide on the wing and when to move inside. Understanding the game is crucial for us, and when you have players who already possess that experience, then things for us are completely different."

Dembele’s impact as a substitute — bringing tactical intelligence and direct influence in attack — reinforced PSG’s second-half control and helped secure the win in Ligue 1.
