Venko Filipche in Sveti Nikole: VMRO's rule left citizens without help, farmers sidelined
SDSM leader said his party proposed a €600 minimum wage and emergency support for farmers and urged the authorities to act.
Venko Filipche, president of SDSM, accused the VMRO-led authorities in Sveti Nikole of abandoning citizens and leaving farmers without support amid the current crisis.
Filipche held meetings with residents and agricultural producers in the region, where he listened to accounts of daily difficulties facing households and farms.
“Citizens share with us the daily problems — enormous, accumulated, without any care and help from the government. Faced with huge fuel costs that have reached 105 denars per liter, there is no assistance for any of the critical categories of citizens who truly need it. Pensioners are on the lowest pensions, social cases, families with many children and people on minimum wage,” Filipche said.
Parliamentary proposals: €600 minimum wage and aid for farmers
He reiterated that SDSM has submitted measures in Parliament proposing a rise of the minimum wage to 600 euros, together with financial support for farmers hit by the crisis, and urged the authorities to review those proposals and respond to citizens’ demands.
“We discussed our proposals in Parliament, the draft Law to increase the minimum wage to 600 euros and the draft Law for financial support in this crisis in which agriculture finds itself, for which I hope that this unpeople’s, criminal, corrupt and anti-Macedonian government will truly respond and provide support, that at least once in this recent period it will hear the voice of the people,” Filipche said, calling on the government to act.
