FK Pobeda on the brink — may miss the 2026/27 Third League

FK Pobeda from Prilep faces a very real risk of missing the 2026/27 Third League season after weeks of inactivity and uncertainty at the club. With the new Central Football Region 4 headquartered in Prilep, local football authorities say they cannot leave the competition list unresolved.

OFS Prilep raises the alarm

The Municipal Football Association (OFS) in Prilep has asked the Region 4 board to finalize the list of participants for the coming season and warned that, unless the situation changes quickly, FK Pobeda will not be included. The association said the club currently lacks an active board, coaching staff and registered players, and that preparations for the campaign have not even started.

OFS Prilep pointed out that the town expected the investors who once promised American capital and a sporting revival to deliver on their commitments, but those investors have been absent for more than a year. The association described the club as effectively dormant and urged concrete steps to protect youth teams and the club's legacy.

"If FK Pobeda AD does not start the competition, it would be a great shame for football in Prilep," the association said, calling on the investor group either to present a clear plan or to hand responsibility for the club to the Municipality of Prilep and Mayor Dejan Prodanoski.

OFS Prilep also stressed concern for the club's youth categories, noting that the start of seasonal youth competitions is imminent and that continuity in youth development is essential if FK Pobeda is to return to its historical level.

Time is tight: the Region 4 management board is due next week to publish the final participants for the 2026/27 season. If no new management or plan appears for FK Pobeda, the club risks being left out of the regional competition entirely.
