Von der Leyen i këshilloi Mickoskit të kërkojë takim bilateral me Sofjen
Pas bisedimeve në Shkup, u njoftua që Musunski do të kërkojë takim me ministren bullgare Velislava Petrova Chamova javën e ardhshme.
Presidentja e Komisionit Evropian, Ursula von der Leyen, i këshilloi kryeministrin Hristijan Mickoski që të kërkojë një takim bilateral me palën bullgare si hap të parë për të zhbllokuar procesin e integrimit evropian të Maqedonisë së Veriut.
Pas bisedimeve në Shkup, von der Leyen tha se është arritur një hap fillestar: ministri i jashtëm Musunski duhet të përpiqet të takohet me ministren bullgare të jashtme, Velislava Petrova Chamova, gjatë vizitës së saj javën e ardhshme. Ajo nuk specifikoi nëse BE-ja do të dërgojë një ndërmjetës, por theksoi se prioriteti i menjëhershëm është zhbllokimi i negociatave dhe më pas hartimi i një udhërrëfyesi për Maqedoninë e Veriut.

"We agreed to take one first new step next week and to try to unblock the process, actually to turn it into a process. That's the most important part. At the moment we unblock the situation here, in my view we can be swift with North Macedonia. Because you are already working intensively on the reforms that are necessary. Yes, there is still work to do, but what you have achieved is impressive and now we focus on unblocking the situation so that afterwards we can come with a roadmap for North Macedonia," tha Ursula von der Leyen.
Kryeministri Hristijan Mickoski për TV24 deklaroi se, sipas sugjerimit të presidentes, e ka ngarkuar ministrin e jashtëm të dërgojë notë diplomatike për të kërkuar një takim bilateral me homologen bullgare.
"I received advice from the President. Already next week our foreign minister is in Sofia; the reason is Corridor 8 and the projects we are advancing within that corridor. To ask the host for a bilateral meeting. I immediately asked the minister to send a diplomatic note and request time for a meeting with his colleague so we can start moving the process from somewhere," tha kryeministri Hristijan Mickoski.
Von der Leyen theksoi edhe nevojën për ndryshime kushtetuese dhe u shpreh se BE-ja do ta presë Maqedoninë e Veriut me identitetin, gjuhën dhe kulturën e saj. Ajo lavdëroi përparimin në Planet e Rritjes, por nënvizoi se reformimet vazhdojnë të jenë të nevojshme. Pas takimit me Mickoski, presidentja e Komisionit Evropian pati edhe një takim të veçantë me presidenten Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, duke përmbyllur turen rajonale.
