France reach EuroVolley final after 11 years, to face Poland

France reached the EuroVolley 2026 final on September 25, 2026, ending an 11-year wait for a showpiece match after beating Finland 3–1 (25–17, 18–25, 25–18, 25–15).

The two-time Olympic champions controlled the opening set, but Finland answered strongly in the second to level the match and force France to regroup.

In the third set France moved ahead decisively, building a sizeable advantage. Finland mounted a mini-run that reduced the gap from eight points to five, prompting a French timeout intended to halt the momentum of the visitors.

Finland began the fourth set with less conviction and France took advantage, opening a 9–6 lead with a scoring sequence that proved to be the platform for an uncatchable advantage to the final whistle.

Final and third-place implications

Thanks to an outstanding display from Matis Eno, the Tricolores will play their first European Championship final since 2015; waiting for them in the title match are the defending champions, Poland. Finland will have a chance to fight for third place against Slovenia.
