Napoli 3-3 Roma at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
Dramatic 3-3 draw at the Diego Maradona saw Scott McTominay and Leonardo Balerdi each net braces as Napoli remain 10th.

Napoli and Roma played out an open, six-goal draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on October 24, 2026, finishing 3:3 in a Serie A clash that produced late twists and two standout double scorers: Scott McTominay and reserve Leonardo Balerdi.
The home side took the lead in the 28th minute when Franck Anguissa fired a dramatic finish into the net from close range with a move described in commentary as a "bicycle kick", beating Gollini to make it 1-0.
Shortly after the restart, less than three minutes into the second half, Scott McTominay met a Matteo Politano cross with a header to double Napoli's advantage. Roma refused to fold: coach Gian Piero Gasperini threw on three substitutes in quick succession and the changes produced an almost immediate reaction.
Roma pulled one back in the 70th minute through Matthias Sule, who combined with Donyell Malen before drilling in from around 20 metres. Four minutes later the visitors levelled when substitute Leonardo Balerdi finished inside the box to make it 2-2.
McTominay restored Napoli's lead with a precise 25-metre strike in the 83rd minute, but Balerdi had the final word: the reserve completed his brace with a goal in the 89th minute to seal a 3-3 draw. Tensions boiled over at the final whistle and Napoli coach Max Allegri was sent off during the closing moments.
The result leaves Napoli tenth in the Serie A table with 11 points after eight rounds.
