The 25-year-old Brazilian did not feature in Arsenal’s last two matches — the victory over Manchester City in the Super Cup and the 3-0 Premier League win against Coventry.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has held conversations with Martinelli about his future at the club, and the North London side are exploring a deal that would allow the forward to depart during the current transfer window.
Reports state that Al Hilal are seriously interested and prepared to offer around £40 million for Martinelli’s services. The Saudi club is also monitoring the situation around Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
Martinelli has played almost 300 matches for Arsenal across seven seasons at the Emirates. His contract runs until the end of next season. Last term he scored 11 goals in all competitions, only two of which came in the Premier League.
