Galatasaray confirm signing of Rafael Leão
Turkish champions pay €38 million plus a 20% sell-on clause and have handed the 27-year-old a four-year deal worth €10m net per season.
Galatasaray have completed the transfer of Rafael Leão from Milan, the clubs announced, ending weeks of speculation over the Portuguese forward's next destination.
The Turkish champions disclosed the financial and contractual terms: Milan will receive €38 million up front and a 20% share of the fee from any future sale of the 27-year-old. Leão has signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray and will wear the number 27 shirt.
Contract and debut details
Under the terms made public, Leão will earn a net salary of €10 million per season. He was officially presented to Galatasaray supporters during the match against Göztepe, a fixture the home side won 3-2.
Leão leaves Milan after seven seasons with the club. Since joining in 2019 he made 291 appearances in all competitions, scoring 80 goals and providing 65 assists.
During his spell with Milan the Portuguese attacker helped the club to capture the Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana. Galatasaray expect Leão to bolster their attacking options immediately as they pursue domestic and continental ambitions.
