Gavi donates €1.3 million to housing project for 300 people
Barcelona midfielder invests €1.3 million in a local housing project to help about 300 people.

Gavi has funded a housing initiative with a personal investment of €1.3 million aimed at providing stable homes for roughly 300 people from his home district.
After a season in which he helped Barcelona reclaim the Spanish title and became a World Cup winner with Spain, the midfielder returned to pre-season training but used part of his summer to back a social project far from the pitch.
From the pitch to local housing
The project targets residents who currently lack the means to secure a permanent home. Gavi’s contribution is intended to create long-term, safe housing for about 300 people who the player says face precarious living conditions.
Gavi maintains a deep connection to his hometown, Los Palacios y Villafranca, where he spent much of his childhood and where locals recently honoured him. He and fellow native Fabián Ruiz were recognised in a local custom that awarded them their weight in tomatoes.
Speaking about the motivation behind his donation, Gavi said: "I saw too many people struggling to survive during the cold winter nights, without a safe roof over their heads. I always said I had a responsibility to act when I have the opportunity to change something," the player said.
The midfielder’s move has drawn praise from residents in his native district and highlights a growing trend of high-profile athletes investing in community projects in their places of origin.
