Goran Gerasimovski: I will not put the draft Barutana DUP on the council agenda until a lawful, acceptable solution is found
The mayor says the plan will wait until terrain stability, access and legal questions are resolved and a study is commissioned.

Mayor of Centar Municipality Goran Gerasimovski announced at a press briefing that he will not place the draft detailed urban plan (DUP) "Barutana" on the municipal council agenda until a legally sound and broadly acceptable solution is found for all outstanding issues, primarily the stability of the terrain and the access road.
Safety study and legal checks
Gerasimovski said the municipality will require the planning firm to commission a special study from the Faculty of Civil Engineering to assess erosion, landslide risk and slope instability before any further steps are taken.
He stressed the procedural duty of the municipality to lead the planning process, but also clarified that opening the procedure does not oblige the council to adopt the plan.
Gerasimovski summed up his position in clear terms: "My position is clear. As long as we do not find a legal and acceptable solution to all open issues, I as mayor will not propose that this draft DUP be placed on the Council's agenda. For Vodno we must be especially careful. It is not enough to merely complete the formal procedures; we must be certain that the solutions are safe, lawful and in the interest of the citizens," he said.
Previous reporting noted that a DUP for Barutana envisaged the construction of 24 private villas on Vodno. The municipality responded to accusations from the civic group Shansa za Centar by saying the current proposal foresees fewer houses than the earlier plan.
For now, the mayor’s stance leaves the Barutana proposal on hold while technical and legal evaluations are completed.
