Gerson Rodrigues signs for Zorya after Vardar exit
Controversial forward, suspended and released by Vardar after the Struga TL incident, has continued his career in Ukraine with Zorya.

The controversial forward Gerson Rodrigues has a new club: he has joined Ukrainian side Zorya. The move follows his suspension and later release from Vardar after a disciplinary incident in Skopje.
The report was published on 17.09.2026 at 14:46. Rodrigues left Skopje more than a month ago, after Vardar officially terminated his contract.
Short spell at Vardar ended after a disciplinary breach
Rodrigues arrived at Vardar as a summer signing, featured in European games and started the new PMFL season with the club. His stay, however, was cut short following the episode during the away match at Struga TL, which led to his suspension and ultimately to the termination of his deal.
After parting ways with Vardar, Rodrigues opted to continue his career in Ukraine and is now registered with Zorya. The club will be his new sporting home as he seeks to restart his career after the tumultuous spell in Skopje.
No further details about the length of the contract or whether Vardar received a transfer fee have been disclosed.
