Vasil Gogov: Good atmosphere and a full arena — enough for the first Champions League points
The reigning Macedonian champion hosts Wisla Plock on Thursday, October 8, 2026 (18:45); tickets are on sale.

Vardar 1961 returns to EHF Champions League action after a one-week break, with the reigning Macedonian champion and two-time competition winner hosting Wisla Plock in what the club hopes will be an opportunity to collect its first points since the comeback.
The red-and-black squad knows the opponent will be strong and the task demanding, but the team expects a lively atmosphere and aims to rely on a defence similar to the one shown against GRK Ohrid.
Expectations and schedule
The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, with a 18:45 kick-off. Tickets have already been released for sale and the club is counting on home support to fill the arena.
“We do not expect an easy game against a strong opponent. I hope for a good result. We have a good atmosphere in the team and we will give our all in front of a full arena to celebrate the first points in the Champions League. I hope we can play the same quality defence as in the match against Ohrid,” said captain Vasil Gogov.
The team’s focus will be on maintaining defensive intensity and converting home energy into points as Vardar 1961 seeks to climb the standings in the group stage.
