Shkëndija parts company with sports director Adrijan Cucili
Club from Tetovo terminates the contract of its long-serving sports director after a disappointing season.
Shkëndija has dismissed its sports director, Adrijan Cucili, ending a spell in the role that lasted almost five years.
The club from Tetovo informed Cucili that his contract was terminated, a decision that caught many in the domestic football community by surprise on 23 August 2026.
Sporting context and reasons
Officials point to a season that fell short of expectations: Shkëndija lost the domestic title and its European campaign did not match last year’s achievement of reaching the group stage of the UEFA Conference League. Those results increased pressure on the club’s sports management and preceded the decision to part ways with Cucili.
Cucili has already said his farewells to players and administrative staff. He will remain with the club through the match against Struga Trim-Lum, scheduled to be played tomorrow on the Football Federation of North Macedonia (FFM) pitch in Skopje, and will leave Shkëndija afterwards.
The club has announced that a successor will be named in the coming days. Other members of Shkëndija’s leadership will stay in their posts for now, despite criticism from sections of the supporter base.
