Flight cancelled in Seville disrupts Barcelona’s plans before PSG and El Clásico
Return flight from Seville was cancelled after bad weather, forcing Barcelona to spend an extra night and alter preparations for PSG and Real Madrid.

Big disruption for Barcelona after their 5-2 victory at Betis on Saturday night: the team’s return flight from Seville was cancelled because of severe weather in Catalonia, forcing the squad to spend an extra night in the Andalusian city.
Barcelona initially faced a delay of more than two hours before the flight was called off. The club confirmed the players returned to the same hotel where they had stayed before the match, and head coach Hansi Flick adjusted the team’s plans for Sunday.
Logistics and immediate impact
The Catalans had planned to return home to resume preparations for the crucial Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain. That match is scheduled for Tuesday at 21:00, with the team due to hold their final training session on Monday; the travel disruption therefore arrived at an inconvenient moment.
The setback comes after a strong run of form: the win over Betis was Barcelona’s ninth in the league and their 11th victory in all competitions. Lamine Yamal again produced an outstanding performance, and Barcelona kept a perfect start in La Liga while holding a three-point advantage.
After the PSG fixture, Barcelona face another major test: the season’s first El Clásico is set for next weekend at Camp Nou against Real Madrid. The club must make up lost time and recover quickly if Flick’s squad is to be fully prepared for two demanding matches within a few days.
