PAOK hit by injury blow — Ohrid native Cedi Osman to undergo surgery

Bad news arrived from Thessaloniki on Wednesday: PAOK will be without one of its leading signings after the club confirmed a serious knee injury to the Ohrid-born forward Cedi Osman.

Meniscus tear; surgery planned

Osman underwent an MRI this morning after feeling pain in his knee. The scans revealed a torn meniscus in his right knee and the player is scheduled to have surgery in the coming days to repair the damage.

PAOK said in a club statement: "Cedi Osman underwent an MRI scan this morning due to pain in his knee. Examinations showed that he has a torn meniscus in the right knee. He will be operated on in the coming days to repair the injury. Our whole team is with Cedi Osman and wishes him a speedy recovery and a return to the court as soon as possible."

At this stage the club has not provided an estimate for how long Osman will be sidelined; the length of his absence will become clearer after the operation and medical follow-up.

Osman arrived at PAOK in the off-season as one of the roster's principal reinforcements and quickly became a focal point of the team’s plans. The loss of the experienced forward is a significant competitive blow for the Thessaloniki club.

Further updates on the timing of the surgery and the expected rehabilitation schedule are likely to follow once PAOK releases additional medical information.
