Long queues at Glumovo toll plaza — waits up to 20 minutes before the extended weekend
Tourist pressure toward Ohrid, Struga and Mavrovo slowed traffic on the Skopje–Tetovo highway and caused queues at the Glumovo toll plaza.
Late in the afternoon and during the evening, large queues formed at the Glumovo toll plaza on the Skopje–Tetovo highway, and travelers reported waits of up to around twenty minutes.
A large number of people, ahead of Ilinden and the extended weekend, set off for Ohrid, Struga, Mavrovo and other tourist destinations in western North Macedonia, which further increased traffic in that direction.
It is common on Friday afternoons to have higher traffic at the Glumovo toll plaza, but today the pressure was more pronounced than usual.
According to testimonies from people traveling to Ohrid, there was no serious waiting at the Zhelino toll plaza before Tetovo.
Where was the biggest congestion?
The longest waiting was reported precisely at the Glumovo toll plaza, while other toll plazas on the same route remained relatively free.
