Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki both struck twice as City triumphed 4:1 at Selhurst Park on 28.08.2026.

Manchester City secured a convincing 4:1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on 28.08.2026, a match that saw Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki steal the spotlight with decisive strikes.
City took control early and opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Erling Haaland converted to put the visitors ahead 1:0. That scoreline held until half-time, with the visitors leading at the break.
Second half turns into a goalfest
The match exploded after the interval: Rayan Cherki doubled City’s advantage in the 54th minute to make it 2:0. Crystal Palace responded almost immediately when Gianluigi Donnarumma turned a Pino free kick into his own net in the 56th minute, cutting the deficit to 1:2.
Cherki extinguished any hope of a Palace comeback by netting his second goal three minutes later, in the 59th minute, restoring a two-goal cushion at 3:1. The result was sealed late when Haaland added his second of the night in the 84th minute to complete the 4:1 scoreline.
The victory marked City’s second win of the Premier League campaign and underlined the striking impact of both Haaland and Cherki in Manchester’s attack.
