Fire burning in five locations near the village of Raec, situation extremely serious
Mayor Mitko Janchev warns that the fire is active at five locations and urges citizens not to approach.
A fire is spreading across five different locations in the area of the village of Raec, near Kavadarci, the mayor warned late in the evening via social media. The situation has been assessed as extremely serious as teams fight on multiple fronts.
“The competent services, the firefighters and all involved teams are making maximum efforts to contain the blaze. We appeal to all citizens not to move toward the affected area, not to obstruct the work of the services and to strictly follow their instructions,” Janchev said.
Interventions and restricted access
Firefighters and municipal teams are deployed on the outskirts of the village and are working to establish containment lines and protect settlements. Access to parts of the area affected by the fire is being controlled and restricted to enable the uninterrupted work of rescue services.
The municipality has urged residents to remain at a safe distance, not to approach the fire sites and to follow the teams’ instructions. The situation is being monitored continuously and tactics are being adjusted depending on weather conditions and the development of the fire.
Earlier in the evening, firefighters also responded in Leptokarija where a chimney at a local building was extinguished.
