Aerodrom mayor urges accountability after old furniture dumped beside containers

Aerodrom Mayor Dejan Miteski publicly condemned a new incident of improper waste disposal after old furniture was left a few metres from communal containers, creating what he described as a potential new illegal dump and undermining public hygiene.

In a post on social media, Miteski said the behaviour damages the appearance of neighbourhoods and shifts responsibility for cleanliness away from shared public space. He added that the problem is not only aesthetic but also a matter of civic responsibility toward the environment.

Inspections and citizen cooperation

Miteski reported that municipal inspection services are already processing the case and that relevant authorities will act within their legal powers. He thanked conscientious residents who spotted and reported the incident, saying their reports allowed inspectors and municipal crews to respond more quickly.

The mayor urged residents to help by submitting a photograph and the exact location whenever they report illegally dumped bulky waste, so that inspectors and communal teams can locate the problem and intervene faster.

“We will clean this up too. But those who create illegal dumps must be held accountable!”, Miteski said, stressing that removal alone should not be the only response — responsibility must be determined for those who pollute public areas.

He closed by calling on citizens to show greater awareness when disposing of waste and to avoid turning the space around residential buildings, streets and containers into improvised landfills. “Clean Aerodrom is a shared responsibility”, he added.
