City train loses power before Lisiche, passengers delayed about 40 minutes
Train that left Zelenikovo at 20:12 stalled due to an electrical supply interruption; power later stabilised.
A city train that departed Zelenikovo at 20:12 this evening lost electrical power before reaching the Lisiche area and was immobilized on the tracks for about half an hour, officials said.
Passengers trapped, then resumed slowly
According to passenger accounts, the train could not move forward or backward while it was without power and those on board were unable to disembark because the train stood in an inaccessible section of the line, away from stations. When power began to return, the train started moving again but only at slow speed.
Operators reported that the interruption was caused by a break in the electrical supply feeding the line; the power feed was reported to be gradually normalizing later in the evening.
People traveling on the train said the planned 25-minute trip to Skopje stretched to roughly 40 minutes, and that they would arrive at their final destination significantly later than scheduled.
No injuries were reported. Transport officials and the rail operator have not provided further details on the technical cause or whether a formal review will follow.
