The city train linking Zelenikovo with the Transport Center will enter service from 1 September. Single rides will be priced at 40 denars, while a return ticket will cost 70 denars, municipal transport authorities announced.
Service pattern and journey time
The timetable foresees nine departures from Zelenikovo and nine departures from the Transport Center each day. Travel time along the route is estimated at between 24 and 28 minutes per trip, depending on stops and traffic conditions.
The operator responsible for the line is Macedonian Railways Infrastructure. The company says all necessary works on the track and stations have been completed in preparation for the launch.
Siniša Ivanovski, director of Macedonian Railways Infrastructure, confirmed that the final interventions are finished and the city train will begin operating from 1 September.
Local officials expect the new service to improve commuters' connections between the outskirts and the central transport hub, offering an alternative to road travel and easing pressure on existing bus lines.
