GROM condemns fresh criminal complaint against party leader Stevcho Jakimovski

The Civil Option for Macedonia (GROM) issued a sharp condemnation after a new criminal complaint was filed against its leader, Stevcho Jakimovski, calling the action a continuation of political pressure on the opposition.

GROM stressed that the complaint arrived at a sensitive moment: Jakimovski is currently receiving hospital treatment and, the party says, has undergone three operations within the last month and a half.

The party described the timing as particularly significant because the development follows a recent decision by the Supreme Court that annulled previous convictions in the case and returned it for retrial a few days earlier.

GROM's appeal: stop using institutions for intimidation

In its statement, GROM urged state institutions to cease being used as instruments of intimidation and political pressure against opponents. The party framed the new complaint as part of an ongoing process of settling political scores.

The party said the legal proceedings surrounding Jakimovski remain active and reiterated its call for impartial treatment by judicial bodies and for respect of legal guarantees during the renewed process.
