Grubi remains on the Council for Coordination of Security Services, documents show

The Ministry of Interior submitted a draft law proposing a merger of the country’s two intelligence services just days after a KOD report aired two weeks ago, but public documents still show that Grubi remains listed as a member of the Council for Coordination of Security Services.

The draft law removes the formal coordination between the ANB and the Intelligence Agency, citing institutional mistrust, and at the same time related records that would show Grubi’s role in the coordination council appear to have been deleted from the public files.

Government press office silent

The government’s press service did not reply to KOD’s questions on the matter. Officials at the Interior Ministry provided the draft law after the television investigation, but there has been no public explanation about the missing coordination documents or why an accused former deputy prime minister is still listed on the council.

KOD’s reporting also documents the scale of intentional car arsons in parking lots across Macedonia and how many perpetrators have been caught, as part of a wider investigation into young Macedonians allegedly recruited for violent crimes and murders by Serbian-Montenegrin clans.

Authors of the investigation warn that victims of this criminal recruitment require timely responses at home, in schools and from society at large. KOD is broadcast on Telma’s evening news.
