Traffic intensity on routes outside urban centres has risen ahead of the long weekend. There is an increased flow of vehicles at the Tabanovce border crossing for entry and at the Bogorodica border crossing for exit; the waiting time is around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Other crossings on North Macedonia's side currently show no longer delays for entry or exit.
Traffic on state roads is moving smoothly on dry carriageways.
Travel advice
Many travellers have headed for Ohrid or for Greece for the extended weekend. If you are planning to travel, expect heavier traffic at the two crossings named above and allow extra time for border checks. Consider alternative routes or later departure times to avoid peak periods.
