05.09.2026 — Manchester City extended their perfect start to the Premier League season after a narrow 1–0 home win over Coventry in the afternoon fixtures of round three. The match’s lone striker was Erling Haaland, who continued his scoring run and delivered three more points for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Haaland’s goal proved decisive in a game that City controlled without ever building a large margin. Coventry posed sporadic threats, but could not find a way past City’s defence.
