Valencia are close to securing a loan deal for Harvey Elliott from Liverpool that would see the 23-year-old join teammate Stole Dimitrievski at the Mestalla for one season.
Agreement on personal terms, talks with Liverpool ongoing
The Spanish club has reportedly agreed personal terms with Elliott, while negotiations with Liverpool are described as advanced. The move is expected to be structured as a one-year loan.
Elliott has fallen down the pecking order under new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola; he was left out of the squad for Liverpool’s opening match against Newcastle. Iraola has said the player is "progressing week by week," while acknowledging that there are currently other options ahead of him.
For Elliott the loan would offer a fresh chance to re-establish himself after an unremarkable spell at Aston Villa last season, when he featured in nine matches for a total of only 277 minutes before returning to Anfield.
The anticipated arrival would pair Elliott with North Macedonia international goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski in Valencia’s squad and add midfield depth for the Spanish side as they prepare for the coming season.
